I am happy to represent layman of this congregation. I just have couple of obser-
vation based on the lessons we learned from the very historical journey of our com-
munity from the forth century. You will see a close and joined efforts of layman and
the clergy throughout the history of our community. All these years our growth and
achievements are the direct result of the coorporation between these two groups-the
clergy and the laity. We never achieved anything by fighting against the church and
its leaders. It is evident in Kottayam and it is evident in North America. In North
America we have very fine and systematic pastoral and administrative arrangement.
We achieved this with in a short period of 15 years by establishing parishes, missions
and our own forane and our own vicar general, our own region, and we are experi-
encing tremendous growth. We must learn from the history and must learn and con-
tinue our growth in this country.
I, along with Mulavanal Achen got the opportunity to represent the Knanaya
Xntbm^n³ Nma¡me Region at the recent Archieparchial assembly in India. I am happy to report to you
that for the first time in the history of the church, during the assembly, the issue of
the pastoral administration of the Knanaya Community was
officially discussed and deliberated. Officially they call it ''d…--
