The presence of so many children gives

me great joy and hope that you will
tomorrow take up the responsibility of
our missions and you are the future and
promise of our prosperity.

My dear children:

When Jesus was asked who will inherit heaven, He said “children
like you’’. What Jesus meant was that if you are pure, if you have no
malice in your heart, you are eligible for God’s Kingdom. My dear
children, you are really the future of this parish and our community
in America. I am very glad that you participate in the Holy Mass and
celebrate the Eucharist to thank our Lord. I thank God for your pres-
ence here because I know that tomorrow you will have to take up the
responsibility for this church here and the Christian community here.
Tomorrow we need priests and sisters coming from this commu-
nity. And therefore your catechism, your religious practice, your

prayer life, etc., are very important. Now we are sending priests from
India, not for ever but for some time. Gradually, you children become
priests and nuns to lead our community and to serve our people. You
must develop that missionary experience.

My dear young parents: Take care of your children, give them
good Catholic education and good formation, that is very important.
Train them in the teachings of the church; encourage them to follow
the call of the Lord. If our Lord Jesus Christ calls your children to fol-
low him very closely, encourage them to do so. If your children want
to become a priest or a nun, it is not a loss, it is a gain.
Remember that you are called to participate in the great mission
of God. You should encourage your children to follow the footpath of
Jesus Christ, and that is very important. Certainly, you have to be
very responsible parents and you have to encourage and support your
children so that they will become leaders of this Christian communi-
